Kogan Aura smart ring

So I bit the bullet and finally bought a smart ring. I used to daily wear smart watches (I really liked the Withings and have considered the new Nova a few times...) but have worn my automatic Seiko for a couple of years now and don't want to go back even though I miss having my heart rate etc tracked. A smart ring is the next best thing!

I have also ordered the charging case but it is on back order.

The ring itself looks pretty similar to the Colmi rings and uses the same app, so my guess is that its a rebrand. I decided to buy the silver model as I thought it would match with my watch better than the black.

The silver finish is plastic.

As with all of my health / fitness devices, having them sync to Google Fit is a requirement - unfortunately I wasn't able to find any specific information for THIS ring syncing to Google Fit but I was able to find the Colmi ring does per this Reddit post

I downloaded the app and didn't have the Google Fit option listed. I confirmed I was on a newer version (1.0.1.something I believe). I had a look at the reviews and there was one from a person complaining about the Google Fit sync being removed, so I downloaded the version mentioned in the Reddit post and voila - the option is there and it works but it hasn't sent any O2 readings yet.

I've configured the ring to check my heartrate every 5 minutes and the battery seems to be draining relatively quickly - at roughly 6% per hour. At this rate, we're looking at 17 hours of battery life. I have read plenty of reviews on the app of the percentage being incorrectly reported though.
